Join NH Fish and Game Department Hunter Education staff, volunteer instructors and camp counselors to learn and practice safe, responsible and ethical hunting. Campers will learn wildlife identification, conservation and management; take part in a live fire exercise with rifles and shotguns and learn to navigate using a map and compass.
All campers are eligible to earn a NH Hunter/Bowhunter Education Certificate. The certificate will cover both archery and traditional hunter safety.
Please know some homework must be completed prior to coming to camp for those wishing to be certified. You will receive an email from NH Fish & Game staff regarding this before the session begins.
Note that this session is open only to youth who have not earned their hunter education certification and campers must be 12 years old to be certified.
Don’t let the name of this session fool you. You’ll also have a chance to experience a host of traditional and fun camp activities. You’ll enjoy campfires, cabin skits, archery, fishing, swimming, and more. Join us and make new friends as you unplug and delight in the outdoors!
*The Activity Scale estimates the level of challenging physical activity each week. 1= some, 2=moderate, 3=lots
