Join us for an immersive, hands-on workshop designed to strengthen your understanding of dairy cattle health and wellness. This workshop will combine classroom learning with practical, on-farm experience to equip participants with the tools to confidently assess animal health and respond effectively. This event is ideal for beginning farmers, producers, and students looking to strengthen their animal care knowledge in a supportive, hands-on environment.

What to Expect:
This workshop includes a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on learning, led by the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets, and Food. Participants will gain the skills to assess animal health and make informed management decisions.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to measure and interpret key health parameters like temperature, heart rate, rumen movement, hydration status, and more
  • How to recognize early signs of illness and distress in cattle
  • Practical decision-making: what you can address yourself and when to call the vet
  • Low stress animal handling and health monitoring in a farm setting
  • Recordkeeping and monitoring tools for herd health

Space is limited to 15 participants.
