4-H Babysitting Course

The 4-H Babysitting Course, currently being offered across NH, offers youth the opportunity to learn the basics of babysitting including topic areas such as child development, entertaining children, safety guidelines, nutrition, the principles of positive discipline, and more. Upon completion of this course, adolescents become UNH Cooperative Extension certified babysitters.

They will be able to take on the exciting challenge of caring for children and gaining work experience with a family or at an afterschool program, library or community center. Contact your county's 4-H Program Manager at your county's UNH Cooperative Extension office if you would like to initiate or teach a babysitting program in your community.

UNH Cooperative Extension can provide volunteer teacher training, updated curriculum materials and even a babysitting kit available for loan.
