The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division of Public Health Services, Food Protection Section protects the safety and security of the New Hampshire food supply and prevents foodborne illness and injuries through inspection, enforcement, and education by qualified staff in collaboration with the food industry.
Food Protection oversees licensing and inspection for NH:
- Food service establishments,
- Grocery stores and
- Retail food establishments
(except for those in 15 self-inspecting NH communities)
Beverage and Bottled Water Manufacturers
(Licenses and inspects in-state and registers out-of-state bottled water and beverage manufacturers).

- Shellfish Harvesters and Dealers
