UNH Extension - Online Tick Training

Participants who complete the training will understand how to identify ticks and protect themselves from being fed upon. Learners are introduced to core concepts in tick identification, tick habitat identification, tick morphology, life cycles and biology, and important strategies for reducing the risks associated with ticks. After successfully completing the 5 sessions participants will have basic knowledge of ticks and what to do to better protect themselves from tick borne diseases.

The presentation is divided into five sessions of ten minutes or less. The first four sessions will focus on the tick’s biology and the final session with address tick management. Activities are embedded in each session to facilitate active learning and measure student outcomes. After successfully completing the 5 sessions participants receive an end-of-course certificate and digital badge. Mozilla FireFox is the preferred browser for this training.
