Jo’s areas of interest include supporting volunteers, ecological stewardship, community arts and tree-hugging - anything that connects humans more to the natural world. She spent nearly a decade in Australia, teaching at Charles Darwin University and in remote areas in Aboriginal communities. She was Executive Officer of Greening Australia Northern Territory, working with volunteers to grow and plant native trees for revegetation projects, which restore biodiversity to the diverse ecosystems in urban areas of the central desert, rangelands and tropical northern Australia. She has run interior and exterior landscape businesses focused on putting more trees where people are.

Jo coordinates the Natural Resources Stewards and NH Big Trees programs.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from the Pennsylvania State University and earned a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
