Leaving Leaves and Flower Stalks Sign (2)

Chris Brown Leave the leaves sign

Leaving leaves and flower stalks

Do you want to leave your leaves and flower stalks on your garden or landscape over the winter to provide food and shelter for birds, bees, butterflies, and bugs, and let people know that doing less is actually more?  UNH Cooperative Extension has created two free downloadable 11" x 17" signs that you can print out and put in your yard. Not only will this help explain what you are intentionally doing, it may inspire others to do the same, and every landscape or garden we leave for wildlife can make a huge difference to their survival and the future of our planet’s biodiversity.

Click on the File link above to download the drawing sign (created by Chris Brown of the Strafford Garden Club).

A second option is that we can send you a laminated copy at our cost price. Please indicate which sign you would like and mail a check for  $7.00, made payable to

UNH Cooperative Extension
329 Mast Rd, Room 101
Goffstown, NH 03045

We will mail you the laminated sign you requested within a week of receiving your check. Whether you print your own sign and laminate it on heavy paper or cover it with a clear plastic, you will want to find a couple sticks, or a wooden stake that you can duct tape or staple the sign to. Then place it in the landscape for the fall season and let us know the responses or the reactions you get form those who see it.  Feel free to email those to mary.tebo@unh.edu.
