Charlotte Thompson will be joining UNH Cooperative Extension in June 2019 as the new Stewardship Outreach Program Manager focused on Natural Resources and based in Nesmith Hall at the University of New Hampshire, Durham. Charlotte will work on the Nature Groupie initiative, along with other projects related to natural resources stewardship, citizen science and volunteers.
Charlotte received her B.A. in Sociology from UNH in 2016, along with a minor in both art and environmental conservation and sustainability. During her time at UNH, Charlotte worked on a NH EPSCoR project examining the connection between ocean water quality, community attitudes and local decision-making. As part of that effort, she interacted with UNH Extension interns and staff, and contributed to the 2015 Beach Blitz citizen science project.
Since graduating, Charlotte has worked for the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust in Maine, focused on marketing, communications, volunteer management and development. Charlotte brings a passion for connecting people to environmental action, as well as an interest in art to her new position, says Malin Clyde, Extension Specialist in Community Volunteers who directs Nature Groupie. “We’re excited to bring Charlotte on board and look forward to the enthusiasm and energy she will contribute to Nature Groupie, the NH BioBlitz project and more.”
