4-H Horse Quiz Bowl is an event where youth demonstrate their knowledge of equine science in a contest similar to high school quiz bowls. Teams of four race to hit their buzzers and answer equine-related questions. The Senior Division contest is used to select the members that will compete as the NH 4-H Horse Quiz Bowl team in regional and national events.
On Saturday March 3rd 4-H members from the horse club Sandwich Saddle-ites competed at the state level against other NH 4-H horse members. The senior team made up of Kailey Deighan & Timothy Lemay from Center Ossipee & Helen LaRowe from Sandwich dominated the day and took home first place. Kailey Deighan scored 2rd place overall and Helen scored 3rd place overall qualifying both girls a spot on the State team and a trip to Kentucky to compete at the national level. Maire LaRowe from Sandwich was our strong member on the Intermediate team coming in 3rd place overall in her division. Sandwich Saddle-ites 4-H club is always looking for more 4-H members ages 8 and older to join their club.
