New member of the marketing and communications team will help lead storytelling efforts

Emma Joyce

Emma Joyce joined UNH Cooperative Extension in May 2019 as a production editor to support the storytelling efforts of the marketing and communications team. Emma brings several years of educational communications and nonprofit experience to this position, having most recently served as assistant director of communications at Saint Joseph’s College in Maine. She holds a master's in multimedia journalism from the University of Oregon, a bachelor's in creative writing from the University of Maine at Farmington and a certificate in documentary writing from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. Emma volunteered with AmeriCorps as a backcountry trail crew member for the Montana Conservation Corps and has actively served the Presumpscot Regional Land Trust in southern Maine.

“I look forward to capturing in words, visuals and sounds the important work Extension undertakes to strengthen the communities of New Hampshire. I’m most interested in stories that lyrically provide insight into human emotion and authentically convey a sense of place,” she said.

Under the leadership of Marketing and Communications Manager Dave Kellam, Emma’s work will focus on writing, editing and project management for digital and print platforms, including Radius. She is based out of Nesmith Hall at the University of New Hampshire in Durham.

Welcome, Emma Joyce, to UNH Cooperative Extension!
