Every child has the potential to be a true leader. In 4-H, we believe in the power of young people and want to provide them with opportunities to grow the skills they need to become strong leaders in this ever changing world.

On Jan. 25-27, 4-H held a leadership retreat at Camp Cody in Freedom. The retreat was for youth in middle and high school grades. With 55 youth in attendance, the event was a great success. Youth were brought together to work on their leadership skills, meet other young people across the state and, of course, have fun. Youth in middle school participated in different workshops that covered topics such as public speaking and service learning (how to get more involved in their communities). The high school students participated in workshops focused on writing resumes and cover letters with an introduction on grant writing. When the youth were not in workshops they enjoyed other activities such as candle making, ice fishing, cooking on a bonfire, dances, karaoke and enjoying the beautiful setting at Camp Cody.
