Yulia Rothenberg joined UNH Cooperative Extension on October 21, 2019 as an Administrative Assistant in Taylor Hall. Yulia is supporting the Associate Director and Program Leaders in Taylor Hall.

Prior to joining UNH Extension, she was the program coordinator for the SIMAP platform, a carbon and nitrogen footprint calculation system for campuses, developed and now managed by the UNH Sustainability Institute.

Yulia is a passionate environmental and social justice advocate and has been learning the ropes of community engagement, convening networks, and systems thinking. She relishes the opportunity to dive in and support the important work UNH Extension is doing and grow and strengthen its impact. Yulia has a BA in History from University of Cincinnati and extensive experience as a proposal manager in IT and then in education verticals. She loves learning new things and building community and sharing.

She is bilingual in English and Russian and brings her old world mindset of creative reuse and minimalist thinking to living on the Seacoast. This mindset also extends to social justice and inclusion of all and creating a just and equitable world. She is also an artist who creates artsy wearables from rescued and not recyclable materials. From old clothing she makes new clothing, totes, jewelry, rugs and other items, extending the usefulness of existing materials, giving them new life and making them fun and beautiful. She loves teaching these skills to small groups and sharing the wisdom of re-purposing rescued and loved items with their second or third life.

Welcome, Yulia, to Extension!
