The Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners (MOFGA) Farmer to Farmer Conference is going online this year, so this is a unique opportunity for farmers around New England to attend that wouldn't normally be able to make the drive to Maine. See info below, or on the conference webpage.

MOFGA's annual Farmer to Farmer Conference, November 2nd, 4th & 6th, is quickly approaching. Register as soon as possible to reserve your space. This year the conference will be held virtually – bringing together presentations, panels and breakout groups mixed with farmer-led discussion groups, meetings and one-on-one farmer connection opportunities. Twenty-plus breakout sessions and over 30 speakers from all over Maine and beyond will address a range of topics including

  • Vegetable varieties for summer hoophouse production
  • Farm crew management and communication
  • Effective email marketing
  • Organic weed management strategies
  • Perks and pitfalls of on-farm poultry processing
  • Greenhouse seedling and plug production
  • Cultivating emotional resilience
  • Racial justice and Maine farmers
  • Pasture-based livestock profitability
  • What went wrong and how did you adapt to COVID-19?
  • and much more!

Learn from and engage with speakers, including farmers and service providers from Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and beyond, and your peers and mentors from across the state. On Sunday, November 1st you will have access to our virtual farm tours and farmer Q&A. We will head to Vermont this year and tour Evening Song Farm and discuss resilient farm layout planning and then head to Footprint Farm to check out some habit farming tips and tricks. Both farms will be available for a Q&A at 3 pm on November 1st. On November 2, the keynote address, “Climate Change, Resilience and the Future of Food,” will be presented by Laura Lengnick, an award-winning soil scientist who has explored agricultural sustainability for more than 25 years as a researcher, policy-maker, educator, author, consultant and farmer.

Hope to "see" some of you there!
