New Hampshire’s Wildlife are significant features of community culture and contribute to our state’s identity and economic vitality. Throughout the Fall of 2024, UNH Extension Community and Economic Development and Natural Resources Teams along with NH Listens and the UNH Survey Center collaborated with NH Fish and Game to engage stakeholders and the public in the 2025 update of the State Wildlife Action Plan. The plan is updated every 10 years through an extensive and detailed process that seeks public and stakeholder input along with updated data about natural conditions. This update process included over 1,000 public survey responses and seven focal groups with over 50 stakeholders. NH Fish and Game is currently incorporating this input into its next plan and will be having a public comment period this summer. You can read more about the process and view the final plan when it is ready here.
