Extending Extension: Our Volunteers at Work in 2019

UNH Extension volunteers live and work in every community in New Hampshire.

They grow leaders through 4H, help community gardens through Master Gardeners, improve science literacy in schools through STEM Docents and Schoolyard Sites, help conserve wildlife through the NH Coverts Project, and so much more.

In 2019, 4,892 volunteers contributed 199,652 hours of time to the mission of UNH Extension by providing practical education, trusted knowledge, and cooperative solutions in New Hampshire communities. Through their efforts, more than 66,000 people received information, education, or outreach from a UNH Extension volunteer.

2019 was a special year of thanks for Extension volunteers. Supported by the John Pike Fund for Extension Volunteers, over 225 Extension volunteers toured Portsmouth Harbor at the Great Volunteer Getaway in June 14, 2019.
