UNH Cooperative Extension offers a series of full-day training workshops twice a year—typically in January/February and September/October—for individuals seeking a Supervisory Registration Certificate - General Use from the New Hampshire Division of Pesticide Control.
To obtain this certification, participants must:
- Complete a series of training classes,
- Pass both a written and an oral exam, and
- Provide proof of insurance.
These trainings are designed to prepare participants for the State of New Hampshire certification exam. Instructors will review essential material from the National Pesticide Applicator Certification Core Manual and the NH Code of Administrative Rules during the Core training.
Workshops will be offered in the following categories:
- Core
- Shade & Ornamental (G1)
- Turf (G2)
- Forestry (C1)
- Right-of-Way (B)
- Mosquito & Black Fly (25b products only) (F2)
In New Hampshire, anyone applying pesticides commercially must be certified as a Commercial Pesticide Applicator, regardless of whether:
-
They are paid for the service, or
-
The pesticide is classified as general-use or restricted-use.
This requirement includes the use of over-the-counter, homeowner-type pesticides.
