Image of fresh pears, one is sliced in half.

When you go to the farmers market in late summer, you will probably find juicy, ripe pears. This delicious fruit is very versatile and can be used in many recipes, or just washed and eaten.

Pears make a great addition on top of a fresh garden salad, they can be poached or even made into a chutney. Why not try some of these juicy and delicious pears the next time you visit a local farmers market?

Pears are available from August through October in New Hampshire, depending on the variety. How can you enjoy them throughout the year?
