Halloween is a tricky holiday to keep your family eating healthy. Between Trick-or-Treating and Halloween parties the sweets and candy definitely pile up. For some playful alternatives try these healthy Halloween snacks with your family.

Apple Teeth

Cut an apple into 12-14 thin wedges. Use two of the apple wedges and spread peanut butter on one side of each of the wedges. For perfect pearly whites, place mini marshmallows between the peanut butter sides of the two apple wedges. For vampire teeth, add slivered almonds or try a thin slice of strawberry as a zombie tongue!

Boo-nanas

Peel bananas and cut them in half. Stand the halves up by placing them on the flat end.  Make ghost faces using mini and regular sized chocolate chips.

Clementine Pumpkin Patch

For this easy Halloween snack, peel several clementines. Cut a piece of celery lengthwise and then into one or two inch logs. Put the celery pieces in the middle of each clementine and add a mint leaf to decorate your pumpkins!

Jack-o-Lantern Veggie Platter

Cut the tops off of a few bell peppers, scoop the seeds out and carve fun Jack-o-lantern faces into them. Use them to decorate your veggie platter. Broccoli, baby carrots, strips of bell pepper, celery, and cherry tomatoes will all work great to fill your jack-o-lanterns and the rest of the veggie plate!

            Ingredients: bell peppers, assorted veggies

Candy Corn Skewers

Use pineapple, cantaloupe and bananas to make creative candy corn skewers. Cut the pineapple ring into thirds to serve as the yellow section.  Next cut cantaloupe into small slices to be the orange section and slice bananas to be the white section. Carefully put the three slices on a wooden skewer to bring together a healthier and tastier candy corn treat!
